Book Launch April 7 at the Ivy Bookshop in Baltimore

Please come to the launch of John Vassos: Industrial Design for Modern America at the fabulous Ivy Bookshop in the Mount Washington neighborhood of Baltimore. The party will have a Greek theme to celebrate John Vassos's Greek heritage, with snacks, drinks (ouzo perhaps) and a book signing. More book signings and speaking engagements to come in the DC area in the spring.   I always have to include an image in my posts so here is one of my favorites from the book. John Vassos designed this gorgeous postcard for his friends in the Skouras family, owners of the Prudential Line. He created it around 1974.  The image goes backs to his art deco roots, exploring primary geometry shapes and sizes. It reminds me of his illustrations in Ultimo, his 1930 book featuring a streamlined underground  city.  If you want me to come speak to your organization and learn more about the career of Greek American industrial designer and artist John Vassos, please let me know.
